The Caro-Mi Dining Room has been in existence since 1945, when the original owners, the Mehafeys, moved from their native Miami, FL and built the business in the area that is now the Greenville Watershed. The restaurant moved to its second location in the Pacolet River Valley in 1957. The Stafford family purchased the business in 1990 and operated it there until Hurricane Helene hit in September of 2024. Now at its Landrum location the Caro-Mi traditions continue.
